FrontCoat Technologies was specialized in selective surface treatments of metals, ceramics and polymers. Using an innovative patent pending technology, FrontCoat Technologies was capable of coating materials selectively without masking and after-treatment of the substrate. The ground-breaking advantage of this technology was that customers and collaborators, would be able to selective metallize their products at a considerably lower price. Materials and complicated geometries, which previously were impossible or not suitable for selective metallization, could then now be utilized because of the innovative technologies developed by FrontCoat Technologies.

FrontCoat Technologies was a spin-out company from Technical University of Denmark, and was a result of two successful master thesis carried out by Thomas Bill and Lars Erup, at the section of materials and process technology at the Technical University of Denmark.

FrontCoat Technologies was established in March 2004 and closed in February 2006.
